General Information, Custom Workshops
We will work with you to maximize value delivered in every session. We will customize some of the material (especially examples) and will conduct multiple sessions of the same workshop for as many days as you require.
We believe that
people retain more if they can do some hands-on work while we are together, so we like to use interactive exercises where attendees can participate and apply what they learn to a real problem that they are dealing with.
For Management Teams
Hands-on interaction with management teams is especially important. So is coaching on the
"language of change" and honest discussions about what really needs to be fixed to increase effectiveness within the team and with the workforce.
Words create or destroy opportunity, so the right words are critical to maximizing every company's opportunity to improve.
Managers leave each session having made progress towards creating tools for improvement or with commitments to follow through on action items or both. We will talk through the execution issues for those items before we adjourn to minimize barriers and arm managers with strategies for excellent follow-through that facilitates a real change in the way future work or communications. Executive teams and site management teams can benefit from this work.
"Improvement Leadership 101" can be condensed to an overview session to introduce managers to the concept of being "players in improvement" and processes that help them be great improvement leaders. The entire program consists of a series of work sessions occurring over several months that focus on the execution of different management system processes (budgets, capital approvals, incentive plan design, new employee orientation programs, etc.). These processes are all drivers of culture, are determining factors in sustainable improvement and have the capability of subtly stealing millions of dollars without the knowledge of managers or the executive team.
All Other Workshops
Other workshops can be modified in content to create meaningful sessions.
For example, the session on
Key Measures can be delivered as an overview on selecting and implementing key measures OR can be delivered as work sessions with the management team or departments where we facilitate and coach them through the process of actually selecting the most important things to measure (i.e., measures tied to value creation and opportunity) and implementing measures to change the focus and behavior.
You choose based on your current areas of deficiency, your need for coaching through the process and your opportunity to avoid common pitfalls associated with this task.
We have years of experience with sessions attended with operators, maintainers and support function s like purchasing, accounting, marketing, etc. We can facilitate sessions for your workforce, or can train internal experts or coordinators that would deliver the materials.
